  1. 2900 BC: The Chinese Emperor - Fu Hsi who lived around that time,  was referring marijuana as one of the most popular medicines. The Emperor was also known as the bringer of civilization to China.

    The Chinese word at that time for Cannabis was "Ma" the cannabis plant was considered as wide spread medicine that contains both yin & yang.

  2. 2750 BC: Another Chinese Emperor named Shen Nung said that he discovered the healing properties of the cannabis plant.

    To according Chinese legend,Shen Nung and also known somewhere as Chen Nung, is considered the father of medicine.

    Along with his discoveries of medicinal qualities of marijuana, he discovered also the healing properties of two other herbs: ginseng and ephedra.


  3. 1500 BC: The first recorded use of medical marijuana in Chinese pharmacopeia for healing predates any recorded history, which make the subject even more controversial.


  4. 1450 BC: The holy anointing oil was made from cannabis - In the original version "Book of Exodus" (30:22-23) the recipe in of this oil was containing over six pounds of kaneh-bosem, a substance that is known as cannabis and identified by many respected researchers, linguists, etymologists, botanists.

    It was extracted into six quarts of olive oil, with variety of scented herbs. The proponents of cannabis are suggesting, that this recipe was given by God himself to Moses and including cannabis, or more likely to say, the kahen-bosm in Hebrew.

    1213 BC: It is still not proven but there are many traces that suggest the people in ancient Egypt were using the cannabis for inflammation and enemas and against glaucoma as well.

    However it is very speculative topic, just because nobody is sure of existence of glaucoma at that time.


    However there were some traces from cannabis pollen that was found on the remains of Ramesses the 2nd. Historian suggest that he passed away in 1213 BC. 









  6. 1000 BC: Bhang, a Drink of Cannabis and Milk was and still is used in India as an Anesthetic.


    Bhang is a drink mostly mixed with milk and cannabis, and it's used by Indian people as an anesthetic and anti-phlegmatic.

    Cannabis has been used in India for long time in order to treat a wide variety of human maladies.







  7. 700 BC: It has been said that there are several records of using of medical cannabis in the Middle East recorded in the Venidad.

    The Vendidad, is one of the many texts of the Zend-Avesta - an ancient Persian texts with religious significance. It is known to be written around the 7th century BC purportedly by Zoroaster (or Zarathustra), the founder of Zoroastrianism, and has influenced by the Vedas, mentions bhang and several mentions of cannabis plant as the most important of 10,000 medicinal plants.


  8. 600 BC: A Cure for Leprosy in ancient India?

    Many people believe that cannabis was applied and used in India on earliest medicinal applications.

    It is said that people were believing that, the Cannabis plant could quicken the mind along with prolonging the life. Also lower fevers and cure dysentery.

    The first major work to lay out the uses of cannabis in Indian medicine was the Ayurvedic (system of Indian medicines) treatise of Sushruta Samhita written in 600 BC... Within the Sushrita, cannabis is cited as an anti-phlegmatic and a cure for leprosy.
